X-Caddis - Tan
The X Caddis is a local caddis emerger pattern that has been a staple in our boxes since our friends down at Blue Ribbon Flies came out with it many years ago. It is a go-to bug anywhere, any time that tan caddis are hatching, all but replacing the famed Elk Hair Caddis in our boxes. It floats low, on the water and the trailing shuck suggests an easy meal for feeding trout. It's also an excellent searching dry fly on the Madison throughout the summer when caddis are always on the menu.
We have this version tied for the shop by local fly tying legend Arrick Swanson, to add some extra fishy mojo.
