For the last 10-plus years the Chubby has been an absolute staple in guides’ fly boxes across the mountain west. Combining the floatation and attraction of the original Chernobyl Ant with a highly visible synthetic wing, the Chubby is one fishy fly. Whether you love or hate it, the fish eat it, and as a top fly in a dry dropper combo, we aren’t sure if there is a better first choice.
