Iris Caddis - Tan
The Iris Caddis is a local caddis emerger pattern that has been a staple in our boxes since our friends down at Blue Ribbon Flies came out with it many years ago. It is a go-to bug anywhere, any time that tan caddis are hatching, and it has fooled more than it's fair share of trout that were rising to emerging PMD mayflies and even Callibaetis. It floats low, but remains highly visible to the angler.
We have this version tied for the shop by local fly tying legend Arrick Swanson, who swaps the traditional white bubble wing for one made of light tan Z-lon.
