BSA Jojo's Green Drake - Tan Wing
The Green Drake hatch is one of our favorites as the insect is very robust, somewhat clumsy, and brings out the lust for dry flies in our local trout populations. The Green Drake’s thick, juicy body sits on the surface and appears as if it might be wearing high heeled shoes as it stands up tall and proud. Trout on the Henry’s Fork in particular gulp these flies with reckless abandon. When we first opened up the shop in 2017, Joe was tying some new Green Drakes for his upcoming trips on the Henry’s Fork. While we had some patterns in the shop that work well, Joe always wants something a little bit different to fish. This pattern got a good testing in 2017, and since then it’s been a staple in our fly bins and our own boxes. As a unique feature the pattern comes in 2 wing color options that can be switched between according to light conditions and sun angle on the river to ensure that you see it all when that big brown slurps down your offering. The black wing version is also a sneaky option to throw at those extra fussy fish on the Fork.
