53 lbs. of elk

After hanging for 7 days in a 35 degree garage, my elk is now in the freezer.  Once I get another 10 lbs. of suet, we are going to make the other 106 lbs. of meat into elk burgers.  When all said is done, we will have 179 lbs. of organic, grass fed Madison Range Elk. 

 Things have been pretty darn cold these past few days here in West Yellowstone with lows below zero….last night it was 6 below went I went to bed………brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.  Once the weather warms up, I am headed down to the Madison in search of a few trout.  Stay tuned for more reports.
