Arriving home from Cody this evening was almost as hairy as the ride to Cody for Thanksgiving. Thankfully, we made out just fine. Being disconnected from the Web for a few days was pretty nice. It gives one time to think and not worry about so much. I am thankful for many things, but this year I am thankful for my wife and family…..and a great fising season, because of the extended family which comes with the fishing business….AKA, fishing clients…..folks like you.
Every single angler who steps into my boat for the day becomes a friend and it is next to impossible for some of the folks to not become like family. It is just the way it is. It’s the nature of the business and the places it takes us. If you enjoy the outdoors, it is hard not to share that.
Molly puts up with all my shit with me and everything a fishing guide comes with. From messy flytying benches to gas receipts laying everywhere, unopened mail – from July, outfitter paper stacking up like cord wood and falling up the table, shotguns, bird dogs to dead elk in the rig. How lucky I am.
