Snowpack Update – we got it!

by | May 27, 2010 | 0 comments

SNOWPACK

Madison Range – 96 %

Gallatin Range – 126 %

Jefferson Range – 106 %

FLOWS

Madison below Hebgen – 663 cfs

Madison @ Kirby Ranch – 860 cfs

Missouri below Holter – 4590 cfs

The last month of precip has saved us……and the trout from a low water year.  No, it should not be like last season with high and muddy water well into July on the Madison.  The Missouri will have water as well, but their flows are currently a bit on the low side coming in at 4590 cfs.  They should get  a bump in flows one of these days.

Currently, it is snowing in the high country and raining on the level here in West Yellowstone.  When will the salmonflies arrive here you ask?  WHO KNOWS!

Dry fly paradise.....
