The mountain ranges around West Yellowstone have been hammered with snow over the past couple of weeks. Not just snow, but wet, heavy snow that skiis really well in the morning, but sets up in the afternoon. The area snowpack varies from 113% to 145% with the moisture content hovering around 115%. The second number is the one that really matters.
I am heading out to fish tomorrow and will report back later. Next week a couple local fishing guides and myself are heading out on a 3-4 day road trip….can’t quite decide between the Missouri, Yellowstone, Madison or one of the many smaller streams throughout southwest Montana.
