As one of the largest private fishing ranches in all of Argentina, Estancia Tecka offers exclusive access to nearly 100 miles of fishable rivers and streams as well as several lakes that hold trophy sized rainbow and brown trout. The vastness of Estancia Tecka is incredible, and the ranch has phenomenal wade and float fishing opportunities, as well as wildlife viewing, spectacular scenery, excellent guides, and first class lodging and meals. For those who enjoy wade fishing, Estancia Tecka offers more options than any other ranch in Argentina. In addition to the fishing, Estancia Tecka offers a taste of what the life of an Argentine gaucho is like, as the property remains a fully functioning ranch.
Estancia Tecka is a massive 400,000+ acre ranch located between Esquel and Rio Pico in the Chubut Province of Argentina. Based out of Estancia Tecka you will have private access to nearly 100 of miles of water inhabited by rainbow, brown, and brook trout. This is one of the largest private fishing ranches in all of Argentina. It offers a variety of float and wade fishing opportunities on the Upper Corcovado River, the Rio Tecka (spring creek), and on many other smaller streams accessed from only within the ranch. In addition to river fishing there are several lakes that hold trophy sized rainbow and brown trout. For those who enjoy wade fishing, Estancia Tecka offers more options than any other ranch in Argentina.
The Rio Corcovado winds through the property on its way to the Pacific Ocean and is home to Rainbow, Brown and Brook Trout. It is most often fished out of a drift boat, similar to how we fish in Montana. Dries, nymphs, and streamers are all options here. The section of water they float is inaccessible to those not staying at Estancia Tecka.
The Corcovado is also home to an impressive run of trophy rainbow and brook trout from Lago Vintter. Fishing streamers for these brutes is exciting as they migrate from the lake downstream into the river. For those who enjoy fishing Spey rods for trout, this is an amazing fishery for that approach!
Rio Tecka is fished on foot from the banks with various dry fly patterns and produces exciting strikes and large fish. Additional spring creeks are found throughout the property and provide the ultimate test of skill for any angler. There are giant hoppers that appear during summer months that cause fish to feed with abandon. 20-plus inch brown trout that live in small waters come out from under cut banks.
Estancia Tecka is home to two lodges situated in different areas of the ranch.
First, Headquarters Lodge is the original house dating back to the 1920’s and has four large bedrooms, granite bathrooms and the traditional estancia character. You approach Headquarters Lodge over a large set of rolling hills to see beautifully manicured grounds set within towering Poplar trees and large equine and sheep paddocks.
Caridad, the second lodge on the ranch, sits on the banks of the Corcovado River with the snow capped Andes Mountains as a backdrop. Caridad has six bedrooms, spacious bathrooms and offers beautiful views of the surrounding river and countryside.
