Looking out the window this morning, I felt the cold pressing through the living room window. 5 below zero. It was sunny so we new it was going to warm up at some point during the day, but when the wind picked up around 11:00, a chill set in. Wadering up at the house, I walked over to B’s and hopped in for a drive to the Madison. The river is flowing 705 CFS and the lake looks full with all the snow pilled up on it. Hebgen will fill…….Mother Nature has thrown us a bone.

When the wind would subside, there were heads up along a bank that was crawling with #16 Midges. B and I traded trout for about an hour or so and then hit the road as our feet were frozen. Hooking a few fish on dries toward the end of a long winter really helps the mind and soul.
