Hoppers & Ants

A fat, healthy Madison River Rainbow.

Trout continue to look up for dry flies throughout the Madison Valley.  Some days are better than others, but if you stick with it you will have success.  The nymphing crowd is catching some nice ones as well on zonkers and beadheads.  Getting an earlier start ain’t a bad idea if floating from Lyons down.  There are lots of hoppers clicking around in the afternoons fish will definitly eat them.  I fished with my Dad today in the Wade Stretch and we had a great time fishing terrestrials from noon till 5:30.  We fish single flies while wade fishing and firmly believe that one gets a better drift when doing so.
