Early summer on the Missouri…

…or late Spring in Montana.  Everything is green, seems to be greener than normal – it is.  Maybe a few weeks earlier than most years, but there is still snow that could fall.  One never knows what the weather will bring this time of the year.  River temps are in the low to mid 50’s, perfect for trout fishing.  Flows below Holter Dam are 4340 cfs, about 2000 cfs lower than normal for this time of the year.

We are off to the river tomorrow for a day of scouting.  The Chicken Boys arrive mid week, they are always a great time.  Mostly old faces, returning for another trip on the Missouri and a few new folks, waiting to see what this is all about.
