Ants are out from the Reynold’s Pass all the way down to Ennis.  One never knows exactly where you’ll see them, but over the past two days, the big honey ants have been out in full force throughout the Madison Valley.  Below is a version of Turk’s Power Ant, which I tied specifically for the honey colored females in a size 12.  The males are tiny and black and the trout eat them as well.  A few fish ate the Chubby this morning, but most of them nosed right up, took a sniff and deployed back to their haunt.  The afternoon was spotty at best with long runs between fish.  Those willing to eat, did however smash the fly.
