Yesterday, Sunday that is, was tougher than old rawhide on the Madison River. At points during the day, I wanted to give Bud and Gary their money back because the river just wasn’t cooperating with their good drifts and well presented flies. Maybe it was the white caps, 30 mph wind and high sun….maybe it was…….shit, who knows. [...]

I watched this guy fish through #1 this morning and near the end of the run, he hooked a lake runner. This brown was a fat 18 maybe 19 incher. The morning was not as productive as yesterday afteroon was. Oh well, I had the morning off and did manage a few grabs on the fly. [...]

These things are swimming up the river…….some folks are already here tempting them to eat their swung flies and drifted offerings. This afternoon, ER and myself paroosed the Madison in YNP looking for trout of the Hebgen kind. We hit up four different runs and cranked up the Drive By Truckers (GoGo Boots) inbetween our spots.
