Almost 2 years ago, while at a board of Directors meeting for FOAM, Dennis Alverson (of Livingston, MT) brought up the idea of a program called Take A Kid Fishing – TAKF. Last year, Dennis organized and implemented this program in Livingston, then brought all the organizational stuff to the rest of the board members [...]

Madison – 78% Gallatin – 76% Jefferson - 81% …….not too bad compared to where we were sitting just a couple of weeks ago. Of course, the actual snowfall is about 10 percentage points higher, but moisture content is what really matters. Like I have said before; the months of Feb, March, April and May will give [...]

If you are remotely like me, then you love to fish dry flies for rising trout. Especially large dry flies that seduce big browns. This is what summer is all about…..and I miss it……terribly. The accompanying music was left out because the sound of the river flowing by was just too pleasant to tune out. [...]

There has yet to be much white stuff fall from the skies this winter. A skiff here and there since before Thanksgiving, but all in all, the snow has yet to come. Looking around on the web, one can quickly find reports which say that December will continue to be cold and dry. As I write, [...]

My opinoin will come out shortly……..this process is going to create some drama, that’s for sure. FOAM will be involved. Your opinoin, what ever it may be, is needed. In the months to come, [...]

Bill Cave & Friends just finished up their third trip the Missouri River in as many years. They love the fall for its solitude and the possibility of superb fishing. Weather can make or break a trip in October. Last year, in October, the group got the short end of the stick with the weather. [...]
